Finding a meaningful gift is rarely about finding something unusual.
Often, it is simply about letting someone know that they have been thought about.
A Story & Sigil Gift Commission begins there.
You give someone you care about an invitation to enter an archive of restored historic engravings and encounter the recognitions carried alongside them.
You do not choose for them.
You simply make the discovery possible.
It begins with an invitation
The recipient enters the archive in their own time.
There is nothing they are expected to find, and nothing they are expected to feel.
They can simply look.
If something stops them, stays with them, or feels worth returning to, they may choose it for their commission.
And if nothing does, that is entirely theirs too.
Story & Sigil never claims another person's experience.
The invitation simply gives them the space to discover for themselves.
That is a quiet kindness.
What you do
Choose the commission you would like to give: one crest, two, four or six, or a Short Story.
You may also write a personal message to the recipient. Your words are placed inside the folded note card accompanying their invitation, so they are the first thing they read.
Provide their address, and the studio quietly takes care of everything else.
Sometimes finding the right words is the hardest part. If it helps, these beginnings are offered simply as companions. Use one if it fits, or let one lead you towards your own words.

What arrives through their letterbox
An invitation prepared by hand in the Story & Sigil studio in Malton, North Yorkshire.
Inside is your personal message and everything they need to enter the archive.
The archive will be there whenever they choose to visit.
If they choose to begin
If something in the archive stays with them, they can return to the studio with the crest or crests they have chosen.
Their commission is then prepared individually by hand and printed on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm paper before being sent directly to them.
Prepared for the person who recognised it.
Made to be kept.
And for you
The studio will write to you when their invitation has been dispatched, so you know it is on its way.
From then on, the discovery belongs entirely to them
